Ty Dolla Sign has been disrupting US hip hop and R&B with his fulsome productions for some time. The LA-based singer and producer has been making ever greater waves since releasing his Beach House mixtapes, and working with the likes of Wiz Khalifa, ASAP Rocky and French Montana.
There’s an air of Dam-Funk to this musician, whose smooth talk is the icing to his softly textured sounds. That’s certainly what he gives us with ‘LA’, the latest cut from his major label debut, which also features a fiery verse from Kendrick Lamar. He’s brought the silken strings back to the streets, and is making downtown LA sound a whole lot more attractive in the process.
LA appears on Free TC, released on November 13, 2015, on Atlantic Records.
