2015 new music releases to look forward to

Tkay Maidza, press 01 600x338While the ‘what’ is important, it’s the ‘why’ that often interests me more – as you can see from my recent crop of 50 album of the year entries. But that being said, there’s a time and place for a humongous, no-explanations-needed list. Like before Record Store Day or, in this case, albums that I’m looking forward to this year.

Whether I’ll even get to listen to more than a tenth of these 156 albums in the next 12 months is another matter entirely. Especially judging from my ever-expanding list of albums from the nineties, noughties and the last four years. And that’s not even counting all the incredible old-school joints that continue to divert my attention.

Still, with the right combination of time management, discipline and funds, I intend to fit in a fair few. Some artists whose albums I definitely plan to make time for: Jazmine Sullivan, Chic, BadBadNotGood, Charlene Soraia, De La Soul, Ella Eyre, Frank Ocean, Gnarls Barkley, Kendrick Lamar, Lianne La Havas, Rose Gabor, The Skints, SZA and anything from super-producer Danger Mouse.

Please note, the artists below consist of confirmed, likely, not-so-likely, rumoured and a handful that are just downright wishful thinking.

What albums are you looking forward to?

    • Good shout, mate. I’ve added it to my master wishlist.

I doubt I’ll get through even half of the records above that do come out out in 2015. However, this year, I feel more prepared than ever to make time for albums that are highest on my priorty list, as well as getting to recommendations like yours.

      • My favourite era was circa Angel Dust and have been impressed by the new tracks I’ve heard on YouTube. I should be covering music far more on AI(thanks for the follow btw!).

        • Ha ha. I like it, Dave. You’re most welcome.

I’m trying to make a serious push this year to a) get back to blogging to this year and b) read more friends’ blogs too.
